Bayfield Electric Cooperative

Iron River, WI

Bayfield Electric Cooperative had outgrown the existing facility in Iron River, Wisconsin that they had occupied since the early 1950’s and selected River Valley Architects to design a new headquarters building for them. The new 34,000 square foot building consolidated their offices, vehicle storage and warehouse functions into a single building improving operational efficiency for the cooperative. Energy efficiency was also a very high priority for Bayfield Electric Cooperative. This was addressed through a design that includes a geo-thermal HVAC system, high-efficiency LED lighting and above average building envelope insulation values.
